Sonic Acts in Amsterdam
I was in Amsterdam from Feb 19th to the 21st for a workshop, spatial audio installation and performance as a part of Sonic Acts' Biennial Sound Art Exhibitons. My workshop was on Ciat Lonbarde Paper Circuits and my commissioned spatial work was titled "Information Retreival and the Cybernetics of Afrofuturism"
"Information Adjustment and the Cybernetics of Afrofuturism by Femi Shonuga-Fleming moves like a river – full of slow eddies and sudden surges – through space and imagined moss floors. The work traces nonlinear histories of Black and Indigenous organic technology, grounding bodies through deep listening as ritual. Drums pulse; jazz loosens into continuous kaizen, transcendence accumulating through interruption and return. Field recordings and synthesised tones hold vibration like breath, with the speakers functioning as ritual objects." - Sonic Acts

Rutland Vermont
On Friday, Sept 5th 2025 Enid and I went to Rutland Vermont to stay with some of her friends from a stonecarving residency she took out there. They were having a birthday party with a lamb that had been killed, skinned and placed on a rotating pole to cook over coal and wood in the outdoors for at least a day. The fresh lamb was too gamey for Enid but I thought it was perfection. We visited Hill Farmstead Brewery, their Saison was to die for. We also visited Bread and Puppet, a radical theatre creating paper mache sculptures since the 1960s. They were having an amazing show. These are pics from this weekend.
